The conference titeled (Investment in Syria) gathers prominent business leaders and investors from around the world to explore opportunities in Syria, which last year improved its global ranking up six places in the World Bank’s Doing Business Survey. It also received a ratings upgrade from the Organization for Economic Cooperation, indicating economic reforms are providing enough impetus for the economy to grow, despite the still ongoing economic crisis. Dr. Alaquil is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference highlighting the CPC 's experience in Syria, CPC -Syria was established as a partnership between Arabian Roots Co. and a group of investors from Saudi Arabia and Syria, set up a 515,000 square meter complex in the industrial zone of Adra which will be built at a cost of $110 million, and is in line with the business philosophy of CPC.In this context, Dr. Alaquil said, that "The decision of CPC to invest in Syria came after conducting in-depth studies of the Syrian economy, specifically regarding its construction materials market. The results of the studies showed that Syria is a promising country for investment after the economic developments witnessed by the country and the climate of open economic strategies and encouragement of private sector investments"
